As President Obama officially announces his revised plans to limit carbon pollution by power plants in the United States, Republicans are already blasting his efforts, arguing they will increase electricity prices for consumers and do little to attack issues related to climate change.
“It make the cost of electricity higher for millions of Americans,” said Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), who labeled the plan “catastrophic.”
Earlier this year, President Obama used one of his weekly addresses to talk up his plans to address climate change, anticipating that the GOP would immediately attack on the lines used by Rubio.
While Republicans rapped the new EPA rule, Democrats were four square behind it.
